In January 2013, I started a Facebook Page called Helping Children Learn and Thrive.

https://www.facebook.com/HelpingChildrenLearnAndThrive

I created this page as I passionately believe that EVERY child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive so that they can have the best chance of living a successful and fulfilling life…

It began as an opportunity to share my knowledge and research on the topic of helping children to learn and thrive… strategies that have worked, and strategies that have not worked so well…

Within this page, I took the liberty to make comments on my own experience and to also post research material that I came across.  Part of the problem with accessing information with respect to learning is that there is so much information on the web but I sifted through and found relevant information to post to this page.  There are great websites on learning that others may not have come across.  As a researcher, I started this page to bridge the gap!

It is the opinion of a parent who has lived a lot both as a full time single parent and in my many careers as a Medical Scientist, Chartered Accountant and Health & Lifestyle Professional.  If it helps even one parent help another child, then it’s been worth it.

ALL children should be encouraged to reach for the stars and should know that the world is their oyster.  They should be encouraged to learn and understand that their potential is limitless…

My vision was to start with a Facebook Page to raise awareness regarding difficulty of children with learning differences being able to learn in a traditional school environment.  Often the school does not cater to the neurodiversity of children.

It is my aim to eventually start a non-for-profit that has as it’s key aim and focus to help children learn and thrive.
